This is an original painting of a Boreal Owl. It is acrylic on paper. It is 16"x20". The painting is a combination of Realism and Art Nouveau styles giving it a unique look. It is done with layers of acrylic from thin washes to many coats to opaque background. The painting is part of my BirdsbyShelley series, specifically my Owls Collection. The Boreal Owl has a striking pattern on it's oversize wings making it an interesting subject for a portrait.
